Reverse
Osmosis
Reverse
osmosis (R.O.) is one of the most convenient and economical methods
of reducing unwanted contaminants in your drinking water. Reverse
osmosis is the process by which water molecules are forced by water
pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. Most of the impurities
and other contaminants are rinsed to the drain while the refined
water is routed to a special holding tank.

A reverse
osmosis drinking water purifier removes most harmful chemicals and
pollutants; removes undesirable tastes, odors and color; and it
is more convenient than bottled water at a lower cost. It significantly
reduces chlorine, bacteria, sodium, trihalomethanes (which is a
known cancer-causing agent that is found in chlorinated water).
Some
of the uses for reverse osmosis systems are: drinking water; ice
cubes (they do not have a yellow tint to them); coffees, teas, juices;
baby formula; low sodium diets; health diets; aquariums; bottled
water; cooking; fresh fruits and vegetables; steam irons; plants.
TFC
(Thin Film Composite)
This long-life membrane is for non-chlorinated water supplies. TFC
is extremely chlorine-sensitive. A carbon filter must precede the
RO element if used on chlorinated supplies. These membranes will
yeild 10-18 GPD of product water. (For use in areas of high TDS.)
CTA
(Cellulose Triacetate)
Consistantly high quality CTA membrane may be used for both chlorinated
and non-chlorinated water supplies.

rejection characteristics of reverse osmosis membrane are:
